Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Roam Wyld.

Getting Started

Is Roam Wyld free?

Yes. The core app is free to download and use. Free features include trip and booking management, entry requirements and visa info, currency converter, emergency numbers, and offline access. A Pro subscription ($4.99/mo or $29.99/yr) unlocks AI transit directions and Gmail booking import. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial.

What platforms is Roam Wyld available on?

iOS only at launch, available on the App Store for iPhone. An Android version is planned for a future release.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes, a free account is required to save your trips and sync data across your devices. You can sign up with your email address.

How do I set my passport nationality?

Go to the Profile tab → tap Edit → select your passport nationality from the options (US, UK, AU, CA, EU). This setting drives the entry requirements shown for all your destinations. You can change it any time.

Trips & Bookings

How do I create a trip?

Tap the Trip tab → "+ New Trip" → enter a trip name, add your destinations (one at a time), and set your travel dates. Tap "Create Trip" and you're done.

What types of bookings can I add?

You can add flights, hotels, and activities. Flights are validated against live airline data and will show a "Verified" badge if the flight number is recognized. Hotels are validated against Google Places. Activities are saved as-is with no external validation.

Why is my flight showing "Flight number recognized" instead of "Verified"?

Roam Wyld confirms that your flight number exists in the airline database. Full schedule validation (confirming the exact date and route) requires a higher-tier API. "Flight number recognized" means we confirmed the flight exists — always check your airline's app or website for real-time status.

Can I edit or delete bookings?

Yes. Tap the pencil icon on any booking card to edit. Long-press a booking to bring up options including Delete. Deleting a booking is permanent.

Gmail Import

How does Gmail import work?

With a Pro subscription, tap the Gmail button on any trip. After you review a privacy disclosure and authorize read-only access, Roam Wyld scans your inbox for travel confirmation emails within your trip's date range. It uses AI to extract booking details and presents them for you to review before adding to your trip.

What can Roam Wyld see in my Gmail?

Only emails. We request read-only access and only scan for travel-related messages. We do not read personal emails, store your email content after parsing, send emails, or modify anything in your inbox.

How do I disconnect Gmail?

Go to Profile → scroll down → tap "Disconnect Gmail". This removes the stored token from your device. To fully revoke access, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Roam Wyld.

Gmail import found no bookings. Why?

A few reasons: the confirmation emails may be outside your trip's date range, they may be in a folder Gmail doesn't search by default, or they're from a sender we don't recognize. Try forwarding the confirmation email to your Gmail inbox and scanning again. Contact support if the issue persists.

Entry Requirements

Is entry requirement info free?

Yes, completely free. Visa rules, passport validity requirements, Schengen day tracking, and entry checklists are available to all users — no subscription needed. We believe safety-critical travel information should be accessible to everyone.

Which countries are covered?

50+ popular travel destinations are covered, with data for US, UK, Australian, Canadian, and EU passport holders. Enter your destination as the country name (e.g. "France", not "Paris") for the best results.

How accurate is the entry requirement data?

We update our data regularly and display the last update date in the app. However, visa rules can change with little notice. Always verify requirements with the official embassy or consulate website before travel. Roam Wyld is a planning tool, not a legal source.

What is the Schengen day counter?

The Schengen counter calculates how many days you'll spend in Schengen Zone countries on your current trip. Non-EU/EEA visitors are limited to 90 days within any 180-day rolling window. The counter turns orange when you're approaching 80 days as a warning.

Subscription & Billing

How do I start the free trial?

Tap any Pro feature (Gmail import or AI transit directions) and the subscription page will appear. Select monthly or annual, then tap "Start 7-Day Free Trial". You won't be charged until the trial ends.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to your iPhone's Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → find Roam Wyld → tap Cancel Subscription. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

I switched phones. How do I restore my subscription?

Open Roam Wyld → tap any Pro feature → on the paywall screen tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.

Is there a family plan or team plan?

Not currently. Each account requires its own subscription.

Privacy & Data

What data does Roam Wyld collect?

We collect your email address, trip and booking data you enter, and passport nationality (for entry requirements). If you use Gmail import, email content is processed temporarily and not stored. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Profile → scroll to the bottom → tap "Delete Account". After two confirmation steps, your account and all associated data (trips, bookings, profile) are permanently deleted from our servers. This cannot be undone.
